Frequently asked questions.
What types of pottery do you make?
I create functional stoneware home and tableware, including mugs, bowls, plates, and serving pieces. Each item is wheel-thrown, handcrafted, and finished with studio-mixed glazes, designed for everyday use.
Can I buy your pottery online or from your studio?
Yes! My handmade pottery is available to purchase directly from the studio in Bowling, near Glasgow, or through my website, perfect for gifts or adding functional ceramics to your home.
Where is your studio located?
I’m based in Bowling, near Glasgow, where I create all my pieces and run hands-on pottery workshops for beginners and enthusiasts.
Do you offer pottery workshops or lessons?
Yes! I offer small, hands-on pottery wheel taster lessons ideal for beginners or anyone curious about wheel-throwing and working with clay. Sessions are guided step-by-step to ensure a rewarding experience.
Do I need any experience to attend a pottery taster session?
Not at all! My wheel-throwing workshops are designed for complete beginners, and you’ll receive hands-on guidance in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Can I continue pottery after a taster session?
Absolutely! Many students continue their pottery journey at home or in further workshops. Some have even purchased their own pottery wheels to keep creating.
How do I book a pottery workshop or taster session?
You can book directly through my website. Dates and availability are listed online, and sessions are limited in size to ensure personal attention for every student.
What should I wear to a pottery workshop?
Wear comfortable, old clothing that you don’t mind getting messy. Aprons are provided, but clay can be stubborn!
Do you offer custom or commissioned pieces?
Yes! I create bespoke pottery tailored to your needs. Contact me via the website to discuss your ideas, and I’ll work with you to bring them to life.
Can I keep my pottery after a workshop?
Yes! I will trim your piece, do 2 firings, and glaze a maximum of 2 pieces for a small charge of £10. Your pottery will be ready to collect from the studio approximately 2 weeks after your class, and each piece you create is uniquely yours to enjoy.
How long does it take for pottery to be ready after a class?
Typically, your handmade pottery will be ready around 2 weeks after your workshop, after trimming, firing, and glazing.
Do you sell your pottery at markets?
Yes, I attend a small number of my favourite markets each year, but my main focus is on studio work, pottery-related events, and teaching. Keep an eye on my social media to keep up to date with which events i will attend.
